Confrontation At FDL Skateboard Park Incident Investigated

Fond du Lac Police are investigating an incident that occurred on the 4th of July at the Skateboard Park at 350 North Hickory Street. A group of younger children ages 6 through 11 were confronted by a group of boys ages 15 through 18. The younger children left, but returned with some adults and the confrontation continued. Two bicycles were damaged during the disturbance and a 16-year-old boy was pushed to the ground. A 16-year-old boy was cited for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. Police are pursuing misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and bail jumping against a man who allegedly pushed the teen to the ground. A video posted on Facebook of the later incident shows a black man pushing the white teen to the ground after learning the boy threw a child’s bicycle over a fence. The boys claimed they respectfully asked the children to leave. Police say the Skateboard Park has been a location that officers have focused on due to past incidents and over the past couple of years there has been a great improvement in that area with very few problems being reported.  Police say they have a zero tolerance for this type of behavior.
