Congressman Comments On Extremist Groups

Wisconsin Congressman Glenn Grothman believes the press has spent too much time focusing on extreme groups in the wake of violence in Charlottesville, Virginia. He says the press is putting people like Al Sharpton up on a podium when we should be focusing on other things like the Federal Budget. He notes Sharpton visited the White House during the Obama Administration over 80 times. He also feels that extremist groups don’t generally represent the majority of the population. He doesn’t know how many people are members of the KKK, Black Lives Matter, and neo-Nazi groups, but thinks the membership is tiny. He says we have to focus on the big problems in the country and deal with them responsibly. He’s also of the opinion that monuments erected in honor of Confederate soldiers and heroes should be removed by local governments and not angry mobs.
