Congressman Grothman On A Bill Changing The Tax Code

Congressman Glenn Grothman says working on changing the tax code was a complicated process, but the bill changing it will be good for the American economy. He wanted to see the corporate tax rate cut so the U.S. would stop losing businesses to other countries. He says the 35 percent rate is the highest in the industrial world and it is time to stop losing businesses to Europe and Asia because of taxes. He also thinks Americans in general pay too much in taxes. He says that is true in particular for middle income people and the effect of the bill will make just about everyone who makes less than $100,000 a year a winner. Grothman would have felt more comfortable if a couple more weeks had been spent on the bill, but leadership wanted to roll it out right away.
