Congressman Grothman On Failed Obamacare Repeal

Congressman
Glenn Grothman says he wonders if Republicans in the House won’t reconsider the
repeal of Obamacare sooner rather than later after a failed attempt last week.
He says Thursday night Republicans seemed to be behind the repeal, but over 18
hours it fell apart. He says Republicans says they won’t try and repeal
Obamacare for 6 months. But Grothman says the reaction he got from people over
the weekend was disappointment over the failed Republican effort. He says he
was in Fond du Lac, Sheboygan,
and Manitowoc
and where ever he went people wondered what went wrong and why Republicans
didn’t repeal it. He says the Republican version of a Health Care bill did
include some good things. He says it was a very conservative bill that would
have slowly weaned people off Medicaid, allowed work requirements for people
getting these programs; it would have defunded Planned Parenthood in an
unrelated situation in the next year. He says it would also have reduced
mandates on insurance companies, which should have resulted in reduced
insurance rates.
