Construction and Maintenance on FDL Streets

Several roads across the city of Fond du Lac will be closed due to construction and maintenance work this week. Keep your eyes open and plan your commutes around these areas: 


Fond du Lac Avenue from Sixth Street to North of National Ave

Schedule: April 2018 thru October 2018

Description of work: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, pedestrian trail, and lighting.

July 2nd to July 6th: The contractor will be setting forms – grading for concrete sidewalk, driveways, and setting intersection street light pole bases for stage 2 or from 9th Street to just north of 11th Street. In addition the contractor will be grading and paving the asphalt path and intersection transition areas of Stage 2. Stage 1 from 6th Street to West 9th Street is open to businesses and residents that reside in this area, but remains closed to through traffic. The contractors will not be working Wednesday July 4th.

Traffic impacts: Fond du Lac Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street during working hours.

Project Detour: South National Avenue at the intersection with Fond du Lac Avenue to Fourth Street at the intersection with Fond du Lac Avenue.

East First Street from South Marr Street to South Park Avenue

Schedule: June 2018 to September 2018

Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.

July 2nd to July 6th: The utility contractor will continue installing water main from Green Street to S. Marr Street. Following the water main work the contractor plans to start sanitary sewer from S. Park Ave. to Ellis Street. Alliant Energy gas main and service relocation work is completed.

Traffic Impacts: E. First Street will be closed to through traffic as of Monday, June 25th. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. Parking is not permitted on the street during working hours.

Ellis Street from First Street to Fourth Street

Schedule: June 2018 to September 2018

Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.

July 2nd to July 6th: The utility contractor will extend the water main from First Street down Ellis prior to Second Street. Alliant Energy gas service relocation work should be completed before July 4th.

Traffic Impacts: Ellis Street will be closed to through traffic starting Monday, June 25th from Second to First Street. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs.

Parking is not permitted on the street during working hours. Residents will be restricted from accessing their driveways during work hours since there is limits room to safely pass by construction equipment.

Adams Street from First Street to Termini

Schedule: June 2018 to September 2018

Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.

July 2nd to July 6th: The utility contractor plans to extend the water main up Adams Street following the work on First Street. Alliant Energy gas main and service relocation work is complete.

Traffic Impacts: Adams Street will be closed to through traffic as of Monday, June 25th. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. Parking is not permitted on the street during working hours.

Elm Tree Lane from Merrill Avenue to Termini

Schedule: June 2018 to September 2018

Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.

July 2nd to July 6th: The utility contractor will finish the water main work in the intersection of Merrill Ave and Elm Tree Lane early in the week and then continue utility down Elm Tree Lane.

Traffic Impacts: Elm Tree Lane and the intersection of Elm Tree and Merrill will be closed to through traffic as of Tuesday, June 26th. The Merrill intersection will remain closed for about a week till July 3 to complete utility work. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. Parking is not permitted on the street during working hours. Access to resident driveways will be restricted during work hours as utility work proceeds.

Grove Street from South Seymour Street East to Bridge

Schedule: June 2018 to September 2018

Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.

July 2nd to July 6th: No work at this time.

Traffic Impacts: Grove Street remains open to traffic.

South Seymour Street from Western Avenue to Grove Street

Schedule: June 2018 to September 2018

Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.

July 2nd to July 6th: Alliant Energy gas main and service relocation work will continue this week.

Traffic Impacts: Seymour Street remains open to traffic.

Tompkins Street from Superior Street to Termini

Schedule: June 2018 to September 2018

Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.

July 2nd to July 6th: Alliant Energy gas main and service relocation work is complete.

Traffic Impacts: Tompkins Street remains open to traffic.
