Convicted Sex Offender Denied Placement in FDL County

A Marinette County judge is ruling not to place a convicted child sex offender in Fond du Lac County. Jeffrey Butler – who was convicted of sexually assaulting a child in Marinette County – was originally set to be placed in the town of Eldorado. A law recently signed into law in Wisconsin requires sex offenders to be placed in their home county, and the judge decided this case falls under that law.
