Corn Dryer Fire Remains Under Investigation

Firefighters from more than a dozen departments remained on the scene of a corn dryer fire for three hours in Kiel Tuesday afternoon.

The emergency crews had been dispatched to the location at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The height of the corn dryer made it necessary for ladder trucks from Kiel and New Holstein to be used.

There were no injuries reported.

The first crews arrived to find heavy smoke at the rear of the County Visions Co-Op.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.
