County Residents To Receive Free Narcan Training

Opioid use in Fond du Lac County continues to rise, but Fond du Lac County Health Department is looking to give residents one more way to assist, by hosting a free virtual Community Narcan Training session. The Opioid Initiative of Drug Free Communities of Fond du Lac County is a coalition of community partners, working together to reduce the negative impact of opioids in the county. September is National Recovery Month, designed to spread the message that substance use treatment and mental health services, can enable those with mental and substance use disorders to live healthy and rewarding lives. The training will teach people how to respond and safely use Narcan, a medication that can reverse an overdose that sometimes occurs when someone is using heroin or prescription pain meds. The virtual training will take place Tuesday, September 29 from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., via Zoom. Registration is required by signing up online here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/B96VXGF
