COVID-19 Hospitalizations Drop In FDL County

The COVID-19 positive case count rose again on Wednesday, but hospitalizations dropped. The county topped 1,800 confirmed cases with an additional 42 tests returning as positive. Hospitalizations dropped to 14, down from Tuesday’s high of 17. FDL County has now seen 1,157 people recover from the coronavirus, while an additional 22 cases were added to the active file, bringing that number to 671. Negative tests have now climbed to 22,429.  

The number of people hospitalized in Wisconsin due to COVID-19 now exceeds 500. According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, 509 people were hospitalized as of Wednesday, the largest number since the pandemic began, and 140 people were in intensive care. The state Department of Health Services reported more than 1,700 new cases, with a positive test rate of 13.1 percent. DHS also reported eight deaths, bringing the death toll to 1,259. Of the 105,932 Wisconsinites who have tested positive, 84.4%, or 89,393, have “recovered” by DHS standards.
