COVID Testing Remains High In State, Nearly 100 New Tests Come Back Positive In FDL County

The COVID-19 numbers in both the state of Wisconsin, as well as in Fond du Lac County, continue to rise with no slowing down in sight.

There were just over 8,000 test results processed on Sunday, with almost 28% or almost 2,300 positive. DHS reports nearly 1.4 million negative COVID-19 tests have been reported in Wisconsin, with a total of over 1.5 million Wisconsinites having been tested for COVID-19. The state is also reporting over 19,000 active cases. The seven-day average of new daily confirmed COVID-19 cases has also skyrocketed the last two weeks, with an average of 771 per day back on September 14, versus Saturday’s average which topped 2,800.

Fond du Lac County saw almost 100 positive COVID-19 tests processed over the weekend, with now 2,045 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic. Last week, there were only six counties reporting upward trends of positive tests, this week there are fourteen, including Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Calumet, Winnebago, Outagamie, and Sheboygan.
