Crash At EAA

Update:

Four of the five people injured during a plane crash at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh Wednesday morning were from Michigan. EAA officials released their names. Forty-six-year-old Kenneth Kaminski of Benton Harbor, Michigan was piloting the plane. EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski says Kaminski was trying to land the six-seat Piper Malibu when something went wrong. He says four of them were able to get out under their own power and the Oshkosh firefighters were able to get the fifth person out. Others on the plane included 71-year-old Gerald Kaminski, 30-year-old Margaret Laing, 26-year-old Nathan Gargano, and 56-year-old Neil Dill. Three of the men were taken to Theda Clark Regional Medical Center. Two were in fair condition and the other is in critical condition. The other two were taken to Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh along with a firefighter who suffered from exhaustion. All three of them are in good condition. The NTSB is leading the investigation. All five people on board a plane that crashed at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh this morning were taken to area hospitals. EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski says the Piper Malibu was on approach to one of the runways at Wittman Regional Airport when something went wrong. Flight for Life flew the most seriously injured person out to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. A spokeswoman for Theda Clark says that man is in serious condition and two other men are in fair condition. Three people were taken to Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh and are in good condition. A Mercy spokesman says two of them were in the crash and another was nearby when it happened. One person is in critical condition following a plane crash at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh this morning. A spokeswoman for Theda Clark Regional Medical Center says two others are in fair condition. Are three are male patients. Two others may have been brought to Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski says the five were on board a Piper Meridian that tried to land at Wittman Regional Airport this morning when it crashed. The crash happened about 7:45 a.m.

Some of them were able to get out of the plane. A spokeswoman at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center says they are treating three people from the crash. Two were taken there by ambulance and another was flown there by helicopter. Runways were shut down to allow emergency response. The crash happened about 7:45 a.m. this morning.
