Cross Named UW System President

The University of Wisconsin
System
has a new president. The UW Board of
Regents has named Ray Cross the next system president, following the
recommendation made by a selection committee. Cross, who has served as the
chanceller of UW Colleges and UW Extension since 2011, was one of three
finalists for the job. Cross replaces Kevin Reilly, who stepped down as system
president at the end of last year to take a job as an advisor for the American
Council on Education. He will become the seventh UW System President when he
officially takes over the job in mid-February.
