D. A. says Rittenhouse Rifle Will Be Destroyed

In keeping with his stated wishes, the rifle used by Kyle Rittenhouse will be destroyed. Kenosha County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger outlined the procedure in court on Friday.

“They gather a number of firearms at a time. They’re delivered to the state crime lab. The state crime lab has machinery to destroy them. That’ll happen probably towards the end of April. And then when that’s done it’ll be recorded.”

Rittenhouse, who was not present in court, had asked that the AR-15 style rifle he used to kill two men and injure a third be destroyed. He was acquitted earlier this year in the shootings that took place during August 2020 riots in Kenosha.
