Daniel Shea Pleads To Drunk Driving Homicide Charges

A 25-year-old Campbellsport man pled guilty to two
counts of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle during a plea hearing in Fond
du Lac County Court this afternoon. Daniel Shea pled guilty to those charges and
four other charges were read into the record and dismissed or dismissed on a
prosecutors motion. Assistant District Attorney Dennis Krueger told
Judge Gary Sharpe they will be asking for up to 10 years of prison time and ask
that extended supervision after that term include addressing audiences of young
people about the dangers of driving drunk. Shea was driving drunk on Highway 45
near Kewaskum on September 13th of last year when he hit another car. Paul and
Joanne Grahl of Eden were killed in the crash and their 13-year-old daughter
Esther was seriously injured. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for
January 2nd.
