DATCP Warns Of Email Scam

The state’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says don’t click on an email that was supposedly sent to you from their department. Frank Frassetto of the agency says it is a “phishing” scam trying to get your personal information. He says it purports to have a PDF file that you need to open in Adobe®. He says don’t open it. He says it was not sent by them. He says the scammers may be trying to collect credit card information or personal data. He says if you hover your computer’s cursor over the sender’s email address you will see the actual address. He says the department’s email address usually has the persons name and ends in “@wi.gov.”
