Day For Veterans Planned In Madison April 26

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and American Legion have partnered to celebrate a day for veterans at the State Capitol on April 26.
The event is designed to honor and thank veterans, as well as advocate for their rights and benefits.
Membership in any organization is not required to attend.
The event will kick off at 10:00 am with coffee, followed by a free lunch at 11:00 am, both of which will be held at the Monona Terrace. Free parking will be available as well.
At 11:40 am, veterans will gather for a procession to the Capitol, where a program will take place from noon to 1:00 pm. All veterans and supporters are welcome to attend.
The event will cover a range of important topics affecting veterans, including the eligibility expansion for the Wisconsin Vet Property Tax Credit, funding for the University of Wisconsin’s MIA Recovery Project, lowering the five-year residency requirement for the tuition remission program, and reducing fees on all DNR sporting licenses.
State Commander Michele Rathke of the VFW Department of Wisconsin says the event is an opportunity to advocate for veterans rights and benefits, and we’re proud to
partner with the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion to make this happen.”
