Deadline Coming Up For Sheriff’s Office Benevolent Scholarship Applications

Time is running out for those who would like to apply for one of the five scholarships the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Benevolent Association will be awarding students from the County. Sheriff’s Sergeant Kelly Schellinger says money generated from their various fundraising events help fund the scholarships. She says, “The Association raises money to fund opportunities like the scholarships through the annual fundraising events throughout the year.” A student is eligible for one of the $500 scholarships if they live in the County and plan to attend college in the next school year. Schellinger says, “We’ve given all this information to the Fond du Lac High School, St. Mary’s Springs WLA, New Holstein, Waupun, Ripon, Laconia, Lomira, Markesan, Kewaskum, Plymouth, Campbellsport, Central Wisconsin Christian, North Fond du Lac, Oakfield, all these high schools are eligible.” Applications for the scholarship are available at the Sheriff’s Department website under the News and Announcements section. They should be completed and returned by March 30th.
