Deadline To Apply For Open Board Seat Is July 15

The Fond du Lac School District Board of Education is seeking letters of interest from individuals in the community willing to accept an appointment to the Board as a result of the recent resignation of Timothy Weddle.

By law, the remainder of Tim Weddle’s term would then be filled at the next General Election in April 2023.

Weddle informed the board that he would be resigning his position, due to a residence relocation that would take him outside of the boundaries of the Fond du Lac School District.

Applicants must be citizens of the United States, 18 years of age or older, and reside within the boundaries of the Fond du Lac School District.

Desired qualifications for a Board member include being student-centered, community-minded, collaborative, a strong listener, a good communicator and flexible and eager to learn.

Candidates must be willing to attend two regularly scheduled Board meetings per month (currently held at 5:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month), participate on committees, attend District functions, be visible in the schools, and attend any special meetings as may be necessary.

Those who feel they meet the qualifications and are interested in serving on the Board should submit a letter of interest identifying their background and outlining their qualifications and desire to serve on the Board.

Plans are to conduct interviews in late July after review of applications by the full Board.

Letters of interest must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 and should be addressed to:
Mrs. Linda Uselmann, Clerk
Fond du Lac School District Board of Education
c/o Superintendent’s Office
72 West Ninth Street
Fond du Lac, WI 54935

Information or questions regarding the process may be directed to Mark Henschel, Board President
(920-907-1608) or Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Fleig (920-906-6502).
