Defense for Fox Lake Murder Suspect Points to Mother

The trial of a Fox Lake murder suspect took a different turn as Laverne Ware, Junior brought in a new attorney. While most of the talk centered on evidence surrounding a former attorney writing checks to witnesses at Ware’s request – and whether they were bribes to cover up the crime.

But a focus also landed on his mother, Marjorie Jones. Jones was sentenced to six years in prison for aiding in the murder – but the defense believes there is evidence suggesting she could be the suspect in the murder, pointing out that she had access to the murder weapon and was at the scene before, during, and after the crime.

Ware is facing charges in the death of his girlfriend, Sesalie Dixon, in December of 2016.
