Demonstrators Boo Walker During Tree Lighting Ceremony

Demonstrators at the Capitol booed Governor Walker during a
Christmas tree-lighting ceremony on Tuesday. The protesters – at times – even
drowned out the high school choir that was performing at the event.

Walker later tweeted that
he can “handle the shouts” – but urged protesters to “leave the kids alone.”

At
one point Tuesday, the public was ordered to leave the Senate galleries after
repeated warning to be quiet. Some even shouted “Shame!” and fired complaints
at senators, even forcing debate to stop at one point. Republicans allowed the
people back in less than an hour later.
