DFC Handing Out Medication Disposal Pouches, Lock Bags at FDL Senior Center Today

Drug Free Communities is continuing their Drug Drop Awareness Week efforts with a special distribution today at the Fond du Lac Senior Center.

Alex Berg with Drug Free Communities tells KFIZ News they’ll be at the Senior Center from 11 until Noon today (Thursday) handing out drug disposal bags during the center’s drive-up lunch program.

“Usually, we do a collection at the Fond du Lac Senior Center, but due to COVID we aren’t doing that this year,” Berg said. “Instead, during their drive-up lunch, we will be providing those free deactivation pouches for your medication, as well as some of those medication lock bags for individuals who are coming to get their lunch.”

Up to 40 pills can be put into the deactivation pouches, and when mixed with water in the pouch, they are then safe to throw in the garbage.
