State’s Chief Medical Officer Dispels Myths Surrounding Vaccines

A persistent myth surrounding COVID-19 vaccines is that they’ll lead to infertility or endanger future pregnancies. Wisconsin’s chief medical officer Dr. Ryan Westergaard says neither is true.

“There’s been no evidence . . . of any risk to pregnant people or to unborn children, or any evidence that it effects fertility or the ability to become pregnant.”

Recently published research by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates pregnant women and their babies are at increased risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19, including death and stillbirths.
