DHS Now Tracking New COVID-19 Variant

The Delta variant of COVID-19 tore through India last month and delayed the United Kingdom’s reopening plan. Now it accounts for about 10 percent of coronavirus infections in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

DHS will release official numbers for the new variant in Wisconsin, beginning today (Thursday). DHS Secretary-designee Karen Timberlake urges Wisconsinites to protect themselves, their families, and their communities by getting vaccinated.
