DHS Offers Tips Ahead Of Thanksgiving

Wisconsin hospitals are starting to fill up with COVID-19 patients once again, and the Department of Health Services is urging people to prevent the spread of COVID. Dr. Ryan Westergaard says the message is simple.

“Vaccines prevent diseases. If we can have communities with very high levels of vaccine coverage, we’re going to expect them to have less activity level.”

Westergaard says that they want to prevent burnouts among hospital staff, and prevent the deaths of people who are coming in from treatable situations because there’s no staff to assist them.
