Discharged Military Members Can Use Training for Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s Licenses

Many active duty and recently discharged members of the US military can now use their military training to get a commercial driver’s license in Wisconsin. Governor Walker’s office made the announcement Thursday – saying the training undergone by military CDL holders and the testing they do to become licensed is either as good or better than what is required by federal law. There wil be an “even exchange” of a military CDL for a Wisconsin CDL – similar to the exchange when any driver moves to Wisconsin from another state.
