DNR Reports Safest Gun Deer Season on Record

The DNR is saying this year’s gun deer season set a record
for hunter safety in Wisconsin.
Three hunters suffered non-fatal shooting injuries during the hunt, making it
the state’s safest gun deer season ever.

The previous record was four non-fatal
shooting injuries in 2014.

There has not been a shooting fatality during a Wisconsin gun deer hunt since three were reported in
2015.

The final tally of license sales has not yet been released, but about
570,000 hunters were expected to take part this year.
