DNR Urging Caution by Hunters, Fishers & Boaters as Water Levels Rise

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is asking hunters,
fishers and boaters to take caution as water levels continue to rise in
Wisconsin. A press release says recent storms have degraded the safety conditions
of public waterways and hunting grounds, and officials are asking anyone heading
into the water to wear a life jacket and watch for floating debris. “It’s
important to remember to stay within your ability and equipment limits and to
avoid strong current areas,” DNR Chief Warden Todd Schaller said. The DNR says
staff members are working to control water flow where possible. The department
expects water levels to remain high over the coming days and weeks.
