DOC Announces Change In Mail For Those In Its Care

A change in how those in the care of Wisconsin state prisons will receive their mail.

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections announced Wednesday it is contracting with the mail management service TextBehind to begin photocopying the personal mail of all adult inmates.

DOC says that’s due to a growing problem of dangerous drugs, including K2 and other synthetic cannabinoids, being sent through the mail. DOC had 182 drug incidents in the month of September, 16 of those requiring inmates to receive emergency medical treatment.

The new practice begins December 6th. More information is at the DOC website.
