Dodge Co. Man Pleads Guilty to Sexually Assaulting a Child

A 27-year-old Dodge County man has pleaded guilty to a
charge of 2^nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child. Juan Cagal Malaga of
Watertown entered the guilty plea in Dodge County Court Tuesday afternoon. According
to a news release from the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office, Malaga was
watching his step children in April of 2018 when he took one of the kids into a
bedroom and touched them inappropriately. Malaga reportedly told the child he
knew it was illegal, and the child should not tell her mother. The child
reported other inappropriate contact to authorities, including Malaga pulling
their hair – and mentioned that a sibling was also touched in a sexual manner. Malaga
faces up to 25 years in prison for the crime. He’s due back in court for a sentencing
hearing on November 22^nd.
