Dodge County Accident Leaves One Person Dead

A one-vehicle accident in the town of Hustisford leaves one person dead, and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office investigating. The accident was reported Saturday, May 9, 2020, at about 11:13 am. and occurred near the intersection of CTH E and STH 60 in the Township of Hustisford. The victim has been identified as 64-year old John Muth of Hustisford.


The initial investigation indicates the car was southbound on CTH E from the Village of Hustisford, and left the roadway, traveling through ditches and over a driveway, crossing over STH 60, crashing through a fence at LKQ Smart Parts, and coming to rest after striking a storage container on the property.  Muth was found unresponsive and despite life-saving attempts made by numerous medical personnel was, pronounced dead at the scene.  Witnesses described observations which indicate the driver may have had a medical episode during the crash.  Muth was the only occupant of the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved.   


The crash remains under investigation.  It has not been determined if the death was the result of injuries or due to another medical problem.  Assisting at the scene were the Hustisford First Responders, Mayville EMS, Watertown Paramedics, Flight for Life, and the Sheriff Chaplain.
