Dodge County Sheriff Announces Re-Election Bid

Dodge
County Sheriff Dale Schmidt has announced that he is seeking a second term in
office. Schmidt says it has been a “great honor and privilege to serve as
sheriff” and that he has a true passion for his career in law enforcement. The
Beaver Dam native was raised in Waupun and attended high school at Winnebago Lutheran
Academy in Fond du Lac. He attended UW-Fond du Lac and Fox Valley Technical College
in Appleton.
Schmidt says if re-elected he would continue to focus on addressing the drug
problem and find options for treatment by working closely with the District
Attorney, Health and Human Services and organizations like PAVE and Stop Heroin
Now. Schmidt also touts his fiscal responsibility with tax dollars and says he
returned around $1.5 million to the general fund over three years as sheriff.
Schmidt says he is passionate about making Dodge County
a safe and enjoyable place to live, work and visit. The sheriff’s position is
up for election in November.
