Dogs Will Be Allowed In Certain FDL City Parks

The Fond du Lac City Council will be allowing dogs on leashes in certain City parks. The Council will check back in a year to see how the ordinance change is working out. Misty Gedlinske (pictured) is the founder of Fond du Lac Dogs in Parks. She told the Council it is a nice compromise. She says it’s a baby step, but it is a good middle ground and it offers compromise. The Council voted 6 to 1 in favor of the ordinance change, but Council President Lee Ann Lorrigan remained opposed to it. She says she appreciates the compromise and believes it is fair. But she says there are still a fair amount of people who don’t want dogs in parks. Dogs won’t be allowed in Lakeside Park East, but they will be allowed in Lakeside Park West and on Harborview Trail from Doty to Winnebago Drive.
