DOJ Launches New Sexual Assault Kit Tracking System

The State Justice Department is officially launching its new sexual assault kit tracking system. Attorney General Josh Kaul says it not only helps police and investigators keep track of that evidence but also allows survivors to find out about it.

“Through this system, we are empowering survivors of sexual assault to learn information about their kits, when they choose to learn that information.”

Kaul says this program will help prevent the backlog of sexual assault kits that both the Walker and the Evers administrations worked to untangle.
