Dollar General Fire In North Fondy

Update:

Fire damaged the Dollar General Store at 333 Prospect Avenue in North Fond du Lac Tuesday morning. Teresa Patchett is the manager of the store. She was opening up at 7:45 a.m. when she saw the smoke. She says when she walked in she noticed an electrical smell, disarmed the alarm, grabbed the store phone and while leaving the building called 911.  She says after 911 dispatched the fire department she saw flames coming from one of the coolers in the front of the store. Deputy Fire Chief Bruce Pluim says firefighters did see smoke and flames when they arrived. He says they could be seen through the glass in the front door. No one was injured in the fire. The cause is still being determined. Among the fire departments providing mutual aid were Eldorado, Eden, Van Dyne, Oakfield, Lamartine, Fond du Lac and the Town of Fond du Lac.

Area fire departments were called to the Dollar General Store in North Fond du Lac this morning.  KFIZ’s Bob Nelson reports that a manager discovered the fire when he reported to work this morning.
