Domestic Incident in Fond du Lac

On February 13, 2016  shortly before 8:00 PM, a 29-year old Fond du Lac man was taken into custody by members of the
City of Fond du Lac Police Department
SWAT
team after a domestic dispute with a female at a
residence in the 100 block of N
Marr St
.
At approximately 5:02 PM the police department was advised of a domestic
dispute that occurred at the residence where a male had an argument with a
female, and during the argument he had armed himself with a knife.

The suspect has a previous history of
domestic related incidents and was wanted on two outstanding felony warrants.

When patrol officers initially
arrived on scene, the suspect had barricaded himself in a bathroom of the
residence and refused to exit.  Officers had
the victim female and her children exit the residence and were escorted to a
safe location.  Patrol officers negotiated
at length with the suspect to exit, but he refused to comply.  The City of Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT team was
called to the scene. Eventually negotiators from the SWAT team were able to have
the suspect surrender to police without further incident.

Fond
du Lac
Fire Department Paramedics assisted with standing by at the scene until
the all clear was given.  Wisconsin State Patrol also assisted with traffic
control.

The suspect is being held in custody
on several charges related to this incident as well as a previous domestic
incident along with outstanding warrants and probation hold.
