Downtown Shooting Suspect Arraigned

The 34-year-old Fond du Lac man accused of firing off a handgun in downtown Fond du Lac at the end of December was arraigned Tuesday in Fond du Lac County Court. William Wilcox entered not guilty pleas to the five felony and 2 misdemeanor charges he faces. Wilcox is suspected of firing off four shots early the morning of December 28th in the area of Main and West 2nd Street in Fond du Lac during an altercation. One of the shots hit a passerby in the belt buckle, which deflected the round. Police were in the area when the shots were fired and quickly apprehended him. A plea and sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 17th.  He’s being held in the County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
