Drive Sober Campaign Gets Underway Today

Law enforcement agencies across Wisconsin will be participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign over the next two weeks. The effort starts today and runs through Labor Day. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Captain Ryan Waldschmidt says they focus on keeping drunk or impaired drivers off the road, and hope they will consider options like using a designated driver or taking a cab. He says Labor Day is a big travel day and is kind of the unofficial end of summer. He says traffic associated with the summer differs from that they see later in the year. He says you will see people pulling a lot boats, trailers and campers. He says it slows down things on the highway. In addition to the Sheriff’s Department, police departments in Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac, Oakfield, Rosendale, Brandon-Fairwater, and the Town of Ripon will be participating in Drive Sober.
