“Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Campaign Begins Next Week

Law Enforcement agencies in the Fond du Lac area will again
be taking part in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign starting next
week.

The end-of-the-year campaign begins next Friday – December 13th
– and continues through New Year’s Day.

Last year in Wisconsin, alcohol-related crashes resulted in
160 deaths and nearly 3,300 injuries. While drivers impaired by alcohol are a
serious concern, law enforcement also faces a growing challenge with drivers
who are impaired by legal or illegal drugs.

The public is asked to help keep the roads safe by never
allowing someone to get behind the wheel impaired, and to find a safe
alternative to get home. In addition, people should report impaired drivers to law
enforcement by calling 9-1-1. Officials also say drivers should buckle up,
watch your speed and eliminate distractions as they hit the road.
