Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Enforcement Campaign Begins Today

Law enforcement agencies across Fond du Lac County are once
again taking part in the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement
campaign which begins today and runs through Labor Day (September 2nd).
Alcohol-related crashes resulted in 159 deaths and nearly 3,300 injuries in
2018. Authorities say that while impairment from alcohol remains a concern, a
growing problem involves drivers being impaired by drugs. That includes both
legal and illegal drugs, and both prescription and over-the-counter
medications. There are several ways people can help prevent impaired driving – they
include never allowing someone to get behind the wheel while drunk or on drugs,
reporting impaired drivers to law enforcement by calling 9-1-1, and finding a
safe ride home or designating a driver.
