Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over

A number of Fond du Lac County law enforcement agencies will be participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” effort this holiday weekend. Sheriff’s Captain Rick Olig says there’s a good chance you will come across an officer or deputy who is looking for drunken drivers this Labor Day weekend. He says with kids returning to school they will also be looking for underage drinkers and those hosting underage drinking parties. But reckless and drunk drivers are those they will target specifically. He says there’s no reason you can’t take a taxi or have a designated driver. Four people have been killed in traffic accidents in Fond du Lac County this year and one of those accidents involved a motorcyclist and a deer. Olig says the other three may have involved a driver who was drugged, but not drinking. No criminal charges have been filed yet in those three cases.
