Driver Arrested After Early Morning Car Chase in FDL

The driver of a car involved in a high speed chase in Fond du Lac early (this) Monday morning was taken into custody.

Fond du Lac Police and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department assisted each other in the pursuit, after police noticed a vehicle traveling 70 mph heading east on Scott Street near Hickory Street at about 12:08 this morning. The vehicle then blew a red light at Johnson and Park, with Sheriff’s Deputies then activating lights and sirens, and attempting to catch up to the vehicle.

The vehicle ignored the deputies, continuing west on Johnson Street through the city. The driver of the vehicle then lost control near the corner of Johnson and Rolling Meadows Drive, striking a pole and a sign before coming to rest in a parking lot.

The driver was identified as a 15-year old male from Fond du Lac, and was taken into custody on charges of Fleeing and Eluding an Officer as well as 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety. The pursuit covered 2.3 miles, with Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue also assisting at the scene.
