Driver Arrested after High Speed Chase on I-41

A 17-year-old from Oneida is in custody after leading
police on a high speed chase early Sunday morning. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s
Office says a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on Interstate 41 at
Townline Road around 2:45 AM for a vehicle that was going 93 miles per hour in
a 70 mph zone. The driver failed to stop, and continued south on the
interstate, increasing speeds to 128 miles per hour.

A deputy was able to deploy a tire deflation device, which
caused one of the tires to lose air and separate from the wheel. That led to
the vehicle coming to a stop near Lost Arrow Road, where the female driver was taken
into custody.

The teen faces charges of felony eluding, absolute
sobriety, operating without a drivers license, speeding, reckless driving and
underage drinking. The Wisconsin State Patrol and Fond du Lac Police Department
assisted in the pursuit, which lasted around eight and a half miles.
