Driver Dies At Beaver Dam Raceway
Town of Beaver Dam Police say a driver was killed at the
Beaver Dam Raceway while doing warm up laps with other drivers Saturday evening.
Forty-seven-year-old Scott Semmelmann was an experienced sprint car racer from
Brookfield .He was driving around the third corner when his sprint car violently
flipped and then crashed into the concrete wall. He was killed in the crash,
which happened just before 6 p.m.. The rest of the race program was cancelled
out of respect for his family. Raceway officials say an incident like this
hasn’t occurred at the track in at least 30 years.
