Driver Injured When Van Strikes Tree In FDL

One person was injured following an accident Monday night.

Fond du Lac PD and the Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue were called out just before 7:45 p.m. for reports of a van striking a tree near North Peters Ave. and Northwest Way.

Early reports stated the van was carrying the driver and an infant passenger.

Initial information indicates a 41-year-old North Fond du Lac resident was travelling southbound on Peters Avenue when they suddenly crossed the northbound lanes of traffic and struck a tree on the terrace on the East side of the road.

Two additional vehicles travelling northbound were also involved in the crash.  

The driver of the striking vehicle was transported by Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue to SSM Health (St. Agnes) for minor injuries. The infant passenger in the striking vehicle and the occupants of the two other vehicles were uninjured.

No additional details were available as of Tuesday morning, and the investigation into this accident is continuing. The Fond du Lac Police Department was assisted at the scene by Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue.
