Drunk Driver Strikes, Seriously Injures Pedestrian

A 38-year old Fond du Lac man is in custody after striking a pedestrian with his car. Police responded to the intersection of Johnson Street and Main Street around 9:35pm Thursday night, where a 33-year old man was hit while crossing the road. That man was taken to St. Agnes Hospital with serious injuries. 

Officers reportedly found 34 empty beer cans in the vehicle – and a preliminary breathe test showed a .214 blood alcohol content. 

The driver was arrested for Causing Great Bodily Harm by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian Causing Great Bodily Harm, Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle, Operating without a License, and Operating Without Insurance. He is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail as the investigation continues.
