Early Morning Accident Takes Life of 21-Yr. Old FDL Male (Update)

An early Tuesday morning accident in Fond du Lac leaves four people injured, and took the life of a 21-year old Fond du Lac male. The incident occurred just about 4:15 a.m. Tuesday morning (9/15/20) at the corner of Johnson and Main in Fond du Lac. According to Wisconsin State Patrol investigators, a vehicle being driven by a 28-year old male from Theresa, ran a red light and struck a Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue ambulance transporting a patient at the time. One person in the vehicle was ejected, and the other occupant needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by Theda Star to Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah. The passenger sustained fatal injuries. The ambulance crew and the patient sustained minor injuries. The intersection of Johnson and Main remained closed for almost 6 hours while the investigation was being completed. Assistance at the scene was provided by City of Fond du Lac Fire Department, City of Fond du Lac Police Department, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department, and the City of Fond du Lac Department of Public Works.
