Early Morning Blaze Injures Two In FDL

Two people were injured as the result of house fire early Thursday morning. Fond du Lac Fire Rescue was called to the scene just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday for reports of a house on fire in the 100 block of W. Arndt St., and once they arrived, they found the front of a two story structure engulfed in flames. One of the victims was pulled from a window, with a second victim making it to safety on their own. Both were transported to the hospital but according to FDL Fire Chief Peter O’Leary, “both occupants were able to get out of the structure without serious injuries.” Multiple fire departments were called to the scene, and off duty FDL Fire Rescue units were able to provide coverage during the fire for the rest of the city. Alliant Energy was also called out to secure the gas and electric services. The house sustained extensive damage and is uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is not known, and remains under investigation.
