Early Morning Collision Results In OWI Arrest

An early morning accident had traffic blocked at the corner of Forest Ave. and Hickory St. FDL Police were called to that intersection just before 2 a.m. Friday morning, for reports of a minvan colliding with a utility trailer. 

The minivan took out a stop sign, and then came to a stop almost on the sidewalk. The 22-year old driver of the minivan then took off on foot. Officers were able to locate the suspect , who admitted he had been drinking at the Sidetrack Bar on W. Scott St. earlier in the evening. 

The driver was cited for a 1^st offense OWI as well as failure to control a vehicle and failing to notify police. An ambulance was called to the scene, but no further injury details were available as of this morning.
