Early Morning Traffic Stop Results In Drug Arrest

An early morning traffic stop Sunday resulted in various drug paraphernalia being found, and the arrest of one person. FDL Police observed a vehicle on the road near South Main St. and 3rd Street, with no plates, just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Once the stop was made, police observed a flurry of activity with multiple occupants in the vehicle moving around. A search of the vehicle was conducted, with officers finding a butane torch, a soda can cut in half with burn marks and a white, chalky residue.


Officers also found multiple baggies containing a clear, crystal residue, as well as multiple brown chalky rocks found in the the trunk. The rocks tested positive for cocaine. A 35-year old male was subsequently arrested for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The male was also cited for Operating While Suspended. The female occupant of the vehicle and her dog were released.
