Election Is Back On, Absentee Ballots Need To Be Postmarked Today

It’s been anything but normal these past weeks. And Monday was no different, with Governor Tony Evers issuing an order temporarily halting today’s election, and then the State Supreme Court voting 4-2 to allow it to go on as scheduled. Democratic leaders did manage to earn a small victory when the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a motion stating that, all absentee ballots received after April 7th would be counted, as long as they are postmarked by April 7th and received by April 13. FDL County Clerk Lisa Freiberg said, despite a day of being in limbo, polling places will be ready to go, and voters should practice social safe-distancing, compassion and a fair amount of patience.
